Origin
Kalem was founded in Jakarta with a focused premise: men's nutritional supplements formulated around legibility, sourcing traceability, and independent batch verification — not proprietary blends.
The Composition That Started It.
Kalem began as a response to a straightforward observation: the majority of men's nutritional supplements available in the Indonesian market relied on proprietary blends — compound declarations that obscured individual ingredient concentrations behind a single total-weight figure. For a daily supplement intended to support energy metabolism and physical activity, this composure offered no legibility.
The founding team — backgrounds spanning qualified nutrition practice and supply-chain documentation — set out to formulate a composition where every ingredient is declared at its actual concentration, derived from a documented supplier, and verified by an independent laboratory before the lot reaches distribution.
What resulted is the Kalem daily complex: twelve ingredients, one serving measure, a lot record for every production batch.
"A daily supplement should be readable. If the label cannot tell you precisely what is in each capsule, the product has already failed its primary function."
What Guides the Composition
Label Legibility
No proprietary blends. Every active ingredient is declared at its exact concentration per serving. The label is the primary document — it should be comprehensible without decoding.
Chain-of-Custody Sourcing
Active ingredients are sourced from documented suppliers. Each supplier relationship includes a material data sheet, origin documentation, and food-grade processing confirmation. Traceability is not optional.
Independent Verification
Every lot is verified by a third-party laboratory before release. The certificate of composition is filed against the lot record. No batch ships without a current verification document.
Where the Work Happens
Kalem's formulation and documentation work is conducted from a facility in Jakarta. The composition studio is where ingredient ratios are calibrated, supplier documentation is reviewed, and lot records are assembled before submission to the independent laboratory. Photography of the workspace is available upon request for wholesale enquiries.
Regional and Documented.
Active ingredients are sourced from documented suppliers, with each batch accompanied by a certificate of composition. Sourcing prioritises suppliers whose facilities maintain food-grade processing standards.
Where possible, Kalem works with suppliers with established operations across Southeast Asia — a regional sourcing preference that shortens the cold-chain, reduces transit risk, and supports the origin map documentation maintained per lot record.
Supplier relationships are reviewed on an annual basis. Any change in supplier for a given ingredient triggers a new certificate of composition requirement before the reformulated lot may proceed to distribution.

Professional Backgrounds
Ingredient ratio design and nutritional research review — ensuring each composition aligns with published nutritional data for men's daily active routines and energy metabolism support.
Supplier onboarding, origin documentation, and the lot record archive. The supply chain function maintains the traceability standard from raw ingredient arrival to finished-lot release.
Coordinates lot submissions to the independent laboratory, reviews certificates of composition, and maintains the batch record archive referenced by the lot code on each product label.
We recommend speaking with a qualified wellness or nutrition professional before introducing any supplement to your daily routine, particularly if you have specific dietary requirements.
Registered as a Nutritional Food-Supplement.
Kalem products are nutritional food-supplements registered with the applicable local regulatory authority under food-supplement classification. Products meet compositional and labelling requirements for nutritional supplement categories.
